An Apple A Day Will Save Your Money


By Alon Calinao Dy: Apple is one of the nutritious foods in the world. It has a lot of healthy benefits in your body. Most physicians have done their studies that eating apple could save millions of lives in the world, avoiding heart attacks and strokes every year.

Many scientists have proven that consumption of this fruit will boost your immune system from possible diseases. Their extensive research from around the world shows that people who eat apple each day have a higher longevity of life than those who do not ingest at all. Actually apple is a natural food medicine that is very essential in your health, because it has no harmful side effects like the usual drugs at drugstores.

My wife, a dentist, usually hates to eat fruits. I don't know why, but I always convince her to consume this amazing food in order to collect a natural source of antioxidants in the body. These antioxidants are needed to fight free radicals that cause untreatable cancers. I told her to eat an apple at least once a day because it has chemical compounds called flavonoids, which are good for our health and wellbeing.

Despite my helpful advice, she resisted to go for a healthy diet, and telling me that she was not used to it since she enjoyed eating meat products. Until one day, she had rashes around her neck and face  due to a beauty product she bought from a beauty parlor at NE Mall in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. I even warned her beforehand the risks of applying those solutions on her face since they were not yet scientifically proven safe and effective.

What happened next, we immediately went to St. Lukes for a consultation in one of the famous dermatologists in the Philippines. This consultant was also a journalist in one of known daily newspapers in the country. It was perfectly fine for me to spend a huge amount of money (5, 200 Pesos) for the entire check-up, including the professional fee and some prescribed medicines, as long as we were satisfied of her service.

But I was really frustrated at her, the fact that this physician admittedly forgot to prescribe antiobiotics when we asked her on the phone, since my wife was diagnosed Allergic Contact Dermatitis, the culprit was the product my wife used from a beauty parlor. So again, we travelled to St. Lukes for 4 hours just to meet her doctor. Overall, we spent over 8, 000 Pesos.

Now the moral lesson here is that, people should be careful what they put on their face. Sometimes, we are the ones who put our health at risk. "An apple a day" is clinically proven to keep the doctor away and save your money. Now, my wife has realized the importance of eating fruits all  the time and avoiding those dangerous products. Eating apple has long been known a natural way to get more fair skin than those unknown substances we buy at beauty salons.

In short, apple is one of the healthiest and safe foods in the marketplace to this day. It has a pectin, an excellent source of dietary fiber that facilitates fast wound healing and anti-inflammatory effects in your body. Other fruits who also contain pectin are guavas, oranges, oranges, plums, pears, and citrus. If everyone devours the delicious taste of apple each day, then I think people may reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, particularly heart attacks and strokes.
