Pope Francis: The People Of The Masses

By Alon Calinao Dy: Pope Francis is the first non-European pope in over a thousand years. He is the most eminent figure in the Catholic church and considered as the Pope of The Poor People. He is as well the most popular pope since his heart is for everyone.

Although he is the head of the catholic church, he continues to change the views of the church regarding the issues of same-sex marriage and on how catholic leaders should behave themselves in front of the public.

His Holiness Pope is expected to arrive this afternoon in the Philippines and millions of Filipinos will come to see the Pope. The pope represents the love of Jesus Christ to all his people. Indeed, his immense love is for both Christians and non-Christians.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Pope Francis to pray for the souls of my friends Nino Angelo Naputo, Dennis Cabacaba, Christian Alido, and Christian Cesar Cebrecus. They are former seminarians at Seminario De Jesus Nazareno in Borongan, E. Samar, who died young, but they are at present in the hands of our Almighty God.

As we get close to the arrival of the pope, I pray for his safe journey so that he can pray over those thousands of people who lost their lives in the wake of super typhoon Yolanda last November 8, 2013.

I pray for all Filipinos, particularly the homeless and the poor, that they should have enough source of income to feed their families. I pray for all the politicians, businessmen, leaders, and government officials to be honest in their work and should be good examples for everyone.

Lastly, I beg for the peace and unity not only for the Filipinos but also for all people in the world.
