Davao Mayor Duterte Agrees To Bring Back The Death Penalty in The Philippines

By Alon Calinao Dy: Religious leaders do not want to reimpose the capital punishment in the country as it is against a right to live of the people. But, what about those criminals who took the innocent lives without mercy?

Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte reiterated that our government needs to reinstate the death penalty in order to lessen the heinous crimes. However, the death penalty was abolished by former President Corazon Aquino in 1987 but later revived by former Fidel V. Ramos in 1993.

Duterte has stated that he had a debate against Joker Arroyo about the importance of the death penalty for peace and orderliness in our land.

Nowadays different crimes have been committed by people, but many of them can bail out if they have money to spend for the terrible things they have done over their victims.

Duterte believes that we can trim down their growing numbers in the jails if authorities would punish them by death,  at least 10 people a day.

I think it would sound harsh for others, but this is one of the best ways to end the growing crimes in the streets. I am sure human rights is one of the government agencies who would object about this proposal.
