Is Giving Money To Church A Sort of Corruption?

By Alon Calinao Dy: When we were children, we often watched our parents giving money to the church. We thought it was just okay because religious leaders always say these offerings would go to the renovation of the church, to the poor, to the various foundations, and so on and so forth.

I believe corruption does not just take place in the government, but it can happen in any religious organization. We don't see them as corrupt people because they are the people of God, which is why it is about time to investigate where all the money we give go.

If you are a Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, and whatever you call yourself, I know you will understand what I mean that one of the most corrupt organizations is your religious belief. Of course, I'm not referring to all spiritual leaders because there are still many who are faithful to their callings.

As a matter of fact, I hate religious leaders calling for assistance, especially money, during the ceremony. God does not need money, but only the people. Like everybody else we have a right to object whenever we catch a spiritual leader demanding for money.

I'm not saying we don't need to help and support our faith but it's much better if all what we do comes from the heart not just it's our obligations. After all, having good intentions is more important than what we give.
