Opinion On Pacquiao versus Bradley 3

By Alon Calinao Dy: On April 9, 2016, the Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao faces Timothy Bradley for the third time in their career at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, USA.

Boxing fanatics believe that this last fight of Pacquiao is all about money he is going to earn before retirement, as fans said that the eight-division world champion defeated Bradley in their two previous bouts as the judges, who scored the matchup, committed an error during their first showdown, giving Bradley a decision over Pacquiao.

Honestly, It is not the fight I want to see before Pacquiao will call it a day in his illustrous career in boxing. I want Pacquiao to challenge new boxing superstars in the sweet science, or if not, I want him to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. for the second time or Juan Manuel Marquez for a fifth bout, as fans want to see legend versus legend. But I don't think that's going to happen because money is enjoyed by today's boxers.

Pacquiao has become active on politics after Mayweather defeated him last May. He announced to his boxing supporters around the globe that this is his last fight. Many people admired his great accomplishments as he fought legendary fighters, but when they made a public statement that his last fight is going to be against Bradley, fans felt disappointed about the decision.

I understand that this is a right decision for him to make, especially for the sake of his family members who beg him to quit in boxing. I also understand that Pacquiao needs to retire in boxing when he can't focus on boxing full-time and while he is still strong and healthy to take another route. But one thing I don't understand why he will fight Bradley over and over again when he already beat him in their previous meetings.

I guess this is another good business for the Top Rank CEO Bob Arum who supports Pacquiao to stardom. I think Pacquiao wants to play safe before he finally leaves the sport of boxing . But whatever it is, boxing is still a dangerous game and anything is possible. Perhaps, Bradley has something prove against Pacquiao when he looked an incredible hulk in his stoppage of Brandon Rios in November.
