Duterte: I Will Hunt Down Corrupt Government Officials

By Alon Calinao Dy: It's a POLITICAL WILL that vice presidential aspirant Alan Peter Cayetano had repeatedly said during the first VP presidential debate hosted by CNN Philippines in UST campus Manila last April 10.

In one of the interviews, presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte said that "I will solve drugs, criminality and corruption in the government within 3 to 6 months."

The question is, how is this possible? Duterte said " I will prosecute them... to the hit" in Aljeezera interview. He added, "you have to strike fear in the criminals," also referring to those corrupt government politicians.

Duterte vowed to hunt down those people who engage in criminal activities, after some critics questioned his ability to do this in a short span of time.

Senator Enrile said that Duterte needs Martial Law to end crime in 6 months, but Duterte camp answered that there is no need for Martial Law, also known as Batas Militar, to wipe out criminality.

Duterte and Cayetano are the only candidates who believe that those people including government officials who have been found guilty of corruption are punishable by death.

In the First Quarter 2016 Social Weather Survey of March 30 to April 4, 2016, Duterte has topped the presidential race. The tough-talking mayor continues to add more supporters and those who believe in his strong leadership in less than a month before elections.

Duterte, Cayetano and its supporters believe that if there is a POLITICAL WILL, all these problems in the present administration will be addressed properly.
