Manny Pacquiao Secretly Supports The Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte During His Campaign

By Alon Calinao Dy: Eight- Division World Champ Manny Pacquiao has admitted that he has been a Duterte supporter since 2015 and one of the people who convinced the tough-talking mayor to run for president in 2016.

Pacquiao, who is now a senator, knows that his heart and support is for the presumptive president Duterte, a presidential candidate who garnered more than 6 million votes than LP standard bearer Mar Roxas.

Pacquiao admitted that he admired the incoming president with his tough stance against crime, corruption and illegal drugs. The Filipino boxing champ also believed that it is time to bring back the death penalty in the Philippines.

The incoming president Duterte said that he wants to bring back the capital punishment or death penalty in the country, in which a newly elected senator as Laila de Lima strongly opposed to this idea.

Pacquiao defended Duterte by saying that death penalty is in the Holy Bible, and so he agreed to Duterte's plan to reimpose this type of punishment among criminals especially for those who committed heinous crimes.

In addition, Pacquiao said that he is very confident that change is coming as he trusts the strong leadership of the incoming president Duterte. He is also happy that Filipinos voted for the president who came from Mindanao like him.
