Dr. Kathleen Genevieve Duterte To Rule Cebu City

By Alon Calinao Dy: Dr. Kathleen Genevieve, a niece of our current President Rodrigo Duterte, has a plan to return to Cebu city, Philippines, to devote her expertise in healthcare and good governance in the city. She was a daughter of former Mayor Ronald R. Duterte of Cebu City in 1980s.

According to her cousin Edward Duterte Abad, Kathleen left Cebu City after she graduated at St. Theresa College in high school. She finished her B.S. Nursing and doctorate in the United States.

Mr. Abad is confident that Dr. Kathleen Duterte would be a good leader in Cebu City, following the footsteps of her father. Aside from that, "she worked with the United States Homeland Security as Federal Security Director," Mr. Abad added.

Just like President Duterte, Kathleen wants to secure Cebu City against criminals and plans to make the city a better and safe place for everyone.

In reality, Kathleen does not need to become a successor to her father when she already achieved successful career in the US. But her heart to return and give back to fellow Cebuanos prevails. Perhaps, her cousin, Mr. Abad, is right that she has a potential to be a good leader in Cebu City.
