Do You Believe Joma Sison's New People's Army is Serious To Have A Peace Talk With The Philippine Government?

By Alon Calinao Dy: President Rodrigo Roa Duterte had given a chance the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison to have a unilateral ceasefire in the Philippines.

Due to a clash between military and NPA rebel groups in Davao del Norte last July 27,  President Duterte lifted the ceasefire and ordered police and military forces on "red alert."

Sison's camp blamed government soldiers who did not follow the order of President Duterte for ceasefire in his first SONA speech last July 25.

However, the government knew that rebel groups were responsible for the attack in Davao del Norte that killed one cafgu and wounded other soldiers. It seemed the rebel groups have no interest to have peace talks in the country.

Many Filipinos are worried about the ongoing armed conflict between Philippine government and New People's Army. Sometimes Filipinos have different opinions on this issue.

Filipinos believe that one of the top priorities of Duterte administration is to unite all Filipinos from different rebel groups in order to attain an economic progress.

For now, the question is, do you believe Joma Sison's New People's Army is serious to have a peace talk with the Philippine government? For your comments, feel free to share your views below.
