Do You Want To Extend President Rodrigo Duterte in The Office?
By Alon Calinao Dy: President Rodrigo Duterte is the Philippines' 16th president who won presidential election last May 2016 by more than 16 million votes, showing that most Filipinos wanted him to lead the country for a real change.
The question is, do Filipinos want to extend him as the head of the country?
Imagine, in just a few days after taking his oath as a president in the Malacanang, Duterte has started the kind of change he wanted to happen in the Philippines, the country's problems of criminality, corruption and illegal drugs.
Nobody can deny it that Duterte's acts of courage come from the Filipinos especially from those helpless people who want the government to punish those evildoers and those who abuse their power and use their money to oppress other people.
Nobody can deny the fact that many Filipinos want "The Punisher" to end the battle of criminality, corruption and illegal drugs that ruined the future of the children and often the root causes of various crimes in the country.
Yes, no one can deny that Filipinos want a strong leader who has the guts to reveal the names of drug lords and high-ranking police officials who are allegedly involve and part of big syndicates in the Philippines.
Under his watch, President Duterte assured Filipinos that those drug lords operating across the country will be killed the moment they try to resist and fight back against the authorities. He also called the attention of those drug lords inside the New Bilibid prison to stop conducting their operations.
With a lot of positive changes in the Philippines, I am one of those Duterte supporters who believes that our beloved president Rodrigo Duterte must stay in power as a president for many years. Of course,
as the song says "Nothing Lasts Forever," I believe the country will be safe in his hands and more needs to be done to ensure that every Filipino is equal in dignity and rights.
