Baron Geisler Criticizes Duterte's Campaign Against Illegal Drugs

By Alon Calinao Dy: It seems actor Baron Geisler is reportedly against Duterte's campaign against illegal drugs. For Mr. Geisler, "it's been part of our economy and other great nations for centuries." 

This post received a lot of reactions coming from netizens. I don't think Philippines became a great nation because of drugs. Although drugs already killed thousands of innocent lives, the proliferation of illegal drugs will never be part in our daily lives.

I understand that the President Rodrigo Duterte's fight against illegal drugs seems hard to achieve, but it is the battle of every Filipino who believes that a brighter tomorrow is reachable for everyone. 

Mr. Geisler added to "help educate people nalang rather than scaring them with useless things." It's been used by our religious leaders for many years, but nothing has changed. 

Drug users who usually commit criminal activities do not fear the RULE OF LAW. Nothing is going to happen if Filipinos will only pray for a better Philippines. Nothing is going to change if Filipinos will tolerate the selling and production of illegal drugs in the country. 

REALITY CHECK is here. If Filipinos will not stop illegal drugs in the Philippines, many people especially the innocent children are going to suffer and die in the hands of evildoers.

I would be much grateful if these blind people do their talks rather than bashing the great initiative of our current government on war against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption.

Although I agree with Mr. Geisler in some ways when he said "stop eradicating the helpless. Lend a helping hand," I think the Duterte administration is helping every drug user to change and start a new life. It's just their addiction is killing them to return to their old bad habits. 

Again, I would be much happy if I see the CHR, CBCP and those people, who complain against President Duterte on his war against prohibited drugs, building rehabilitation centers for the drug users rather than using children and other people for their futile purposes.
