Reasons Why I Campaigned And Voted Rodrigo Duterte For President
By Alon Calinao Dy: Before the 2016 May elections, I discussed the Reasons why I supported Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for president even though "Ang Daang Matuwid" led by Liberal Party of the Philippines said that Digong has no "morality and decency" because of his foul language.
A leader as president-elect Rodrigo Duterte is a strong man and a man of action. No one should lecture him about morality and decency, not even the Philippine media and the church, because these core values are just words for some policitians to fraud Filipino voters and putting the Philippines' future at high risk.
When Digong decided to run for presidency, many Filipinos became happy. He was like a famous rockstar who made a noise in politics. This noise was not to irritate Filipinos but to give a new hope for the millions of hopeless Filipinos. His "iron hand" kind of leadership was a simple solution to fight crime, corruption and illegal drugs in the country.
I think the issues of immorality and indecency such as being rude and disrespectful to Pope Francis, acts of lasciviousness, promoting violence instead of peace, and many more often thrown to Digong aren't real and a black propaganda to destroy his good reputation. For more than 22 years as a government official, all these allegations have been proven wrong by residents in Davao City.
President-elect Rodrigo Duterte clearly wanted to fulfill his promise to end crime, corruption and illegal drugs within 3 to 6 months as he stated. It is true when he said that he has a "political will" to implement the laws and to have these laws sharp claws to solve country's problems.
Some people are worried and afraid what if there's a wrong conviction, miscarriage of justice and the person whose being executed a mistaken identity. I don't think Duterte Administration will allow that to happen. That's why he's trying hard to remove and punish those corrupt government officials and protectors of illegal drugs because he wants to save more Filipino lives from being executed unjustly.
