Boycott Mayweather - Maidana Fight

By Alon Calinao Dy: Argentine boxer Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31 KOs) is going for a second bout against the undefeated boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26 KOs) on September 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Sure, Maidana would keep himself busy and throw a lot of punches to hurt Mayweather, as what he did in their first bout when the battle went well in the early rounds. But after the fight, experts said Mayweather was just toying with Maidana.

Now their rematch is not going to help the boxing community. People with strong liking for this sport already knew what's the outcome of the bout this coming Saturday.

Maidana is a slow version of Manny Pacquiao who has no power to knock out his opponent, as Mayweather doesn't see the Argentine boxer as being an A level fighter like himself.

I have utmost respect for Maidana and his trainer Robert Garcia. But he has no power to resist attack from Mayweather's drop-jab tactic and strenght to beat the boastful fighter.

Yes it's true that Maidana had shown durability in the past, but not consistency. If he really wants to defeat Mayweather Jr., he should employ a relentless attack from 1 to 12 rounds. He can't go out there like any other B level fighters  who stop throwing solid punches in the middle of the fight.

Also, if he wants to fold Mayweather like a scrap of paper, he should be like water that soiled items whenever heat is there to make a fighter sweat more profusely, when he is weak and feeling tired.

Nevertheless, Instead of watching this Mayweather - Maidana fight, fight fans should ask for Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight next year. It's the only fight that matters today.

Fans know the fact that Mayweather is going to be a winner in this competition because Maidana easily fades in the late rounds. In other words, he has no stamina like Pacquiao.

This second fight is nothing but a waste of time for all of us. Again, it's time to call for Pacquiao - Mayweather fight in 2015. I'm sure everyone will love to see them in the ring.
