By Alon Calinao Dy: Despite the corruption allegations against Vice President Jejomar Binay, he remains convinced that he is going to win the presidential race in 2016, as he is the leading candidate in the latest survey of Pulse Asia.
Binay denied all the complaints against him as it is clearly a political motive to destroy his good reputation as a second most powerful political leader in the country.
Binay has a huge following in Metro Manila, particularly in Makati, and big provinces like Nueva Ecija and Isabela.
Aside from Binay, Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada has announced his interest to run for president in 2016. It is not yet known who will be his vice president if ever he really wants the highest seat in Malacanang Palace.
Other possible candidates who will run in the presidential race next year are Grace Poe, Bong Bong Marcos, Miriam Santiago, Rodrigo Duterte, Alan Peter Cayetano, Ping Lacson, and others.
Binay is believed to have spotted the number one position that he will likely win the presidential race after Joseph Estrada and Bong Bong Marcos according to the latest poll. But it is still more than a year before the election and anyone can win the presidential competition.
