Do You Agree With Having A National ID Card For Security Purposes?
By Alon Calinao Dy: Reports say that we necessitate to have a national ID to identify foreign invaders who want to manipulate our government system. A national ID is asked so that police can check and examine the true identity of the person.
Take a look, for instance at the countries like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, they have national ID cards such as iqama or civil ID, without having it in your pocket the police might arrest or invite you for further questioning.
Reports also alleged that the government might be dealing with the people who do not want to identify themselves like MILF negotiators Iqbal and Murad. Although government officials said that it is fine to use an alias, others protested about this as this is the kind of treason that is punishable by law.
Aside from identifying the race of a person, a national ID system can examine someone's background or track his moves. Having this identification we can easily determine the past records of a person if he is involved in the terrorism, or if it is his first offense to commit a crime. It is crucial to improve our identity systems for protection uses.
Many rich countries in the world require a national ID card for every citizen. This can prevent and solve crimes, and other illegal activities that might happen. Many countries have demonstrated that this is helpful by giving the authorities the power to reduce criminalities. After all, we all want to see our children live in peace & order and grow old.
