By Alon Calinao Dy: On December 18 at around 1pm, an unidentified armed group attacked the military as one of the members of the rescue and relief operations in Northern Samar after they'd delivered goods to the Typhoon Nona victims.
Two soldiers were wounded and the army claimed that it was New People's Army (NPA) who was responsible for the onslaught.
A few days from now, Christmas is coming. This holiday season, love is supposed to bring you peace. But war never ends. Suspects in a gunfire remain at large and military investigation is still ongoing.
A photo credited to Mr. Jojo Figueroa Remigio, pictured the response team of army who came for a backup. The unidentified armed group however fled immediately, which resulted in a finger pointing to who is responsible for the ambush incident.
For now people are asking, why did it happen when these soldiers are just helping to deliver the goods for the victims of Typhoon Nona? That's something people should know about if it is politically motivated or something else.
As Christmas is approaching, altogether we pray that love and peace will remain in people's hearts.
