Who Do You Think Will Be The Next Philippine President in 2016?

By Alon Calinao Dy: Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte becomes so popular not only in the social media but in front of the television of millions of Filipinos watching the first presidential debate in Mindanao. He directly answered the most pressing problems in the Philippines. His answers were honest and accurate as he wowed viewers because these answers were right to the solutions for a bright future in the country.

Netizens slammed presidential aspirant Mar Roxas that he was the best prepared among other presidential candidates. He said these comments against Duterte in Tagalog language during their debate held in Cagayan de Oro City, Sunday, Feb. 21, "may droga sa Davao ngayon. Ngayon lang, gusto mo samahan kita e, makakabili tayo ng droga sa Davao e. E kung supposed to be kaya [ ni Duterte ] gawin 'yan, ba't hindi pa nangyayari yan."

Roxas also commented against Vice President Jejomar Binay. He added, "ganun din sa Makati pwede tayo bumili ng shabu, cocaine, heroine."

It's hard to believe whether Roxas is really a leading candidate against his four rivals when his speeches are quite often against them. People do not want to hear a leader who blames other people for his own failures. A true leader accepts responsibility and accountability.

The most recent question is, who won the first Pilipinas 2016 Presidential Debate? Is it Grace Poe, Jejomar Binay, Mar Roxas, Miriam Santiago, or Rodrigo Duterte?

I think it's crystal clear that Duterte displayed his amazing skills in answering the most pressing questions in the country. Even Senator Santiago, mentioned him as she was impressed that the infamous mayor has a strong will to solve crime and corruption within 3 to 6 mos. in service if ever elected as the highest government official of the country.

It's too early to tell and pinpoint who will be the next president in the May 2016 elections. But whoever it is, Filipinos should be supportive to the new administration and forget about the dirty game in politics. Let's all be friends. I just hope that a new president has the heart to fight crime and corruption in the Philippines, and someone who is honest and aware of his/her limitations.
