By Alon Calinao Dy: President Rodrigo Duterte said during the May 2016 election that he would go around Metro Manila to see the different situations himself.
A Facebook post said that he did it, wearing a helmet to mislead the people that he is the president of the Republic of the Philippines.
According to the Pres. Rodrigo Roa Facebook page, the Mindanaoan president went to Muntilupa City to witness the traffic congestion in the city and tried to enter to the mayor's office but the security guard did not allow him to come inside.
After president Duterte took off his helmet, the guard realized that it was the president, and so he immediately welcomed him inside.
Since Duterte analyzed the cause of traffic situations in the area, he ordered Mayor Fresnedi to clean the area as he saw himself that the vendors were causing the traffic congestion.
What's the moral lesson of the story? President Rodrigo Duterte can be everywhere and if you are a public official, you must do what you need to do, and not wait for the president to remind you all the appropriate things you should have been doing.
