Cotto-Mayweather Fight II is Possible

By Alon Calinao Dy:  Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32 KO's) not only destroyed the career of Sergio Martinez (51-3-2, KO's), but he opened the door of possibility for Mayweather-Cotto rematch next year.

To everyone's knowledge, Cotto and Mayweather had an exciting fight years ago, as many of the Puerto Rican's supporters demanded for immediate rematch due to competitive fight in nature, and an exchange of hard punches between the two elite boxers of the world.

Mayweather was nailed several times by Cotto's powerful shots that made the boxing crowd excited and gave Cotto a full credit for his braveness and willingness to defeat the unbeaten American boxer no matter how difficult the challenges ahead of him.

If Cotto became more aggressive and delivered deadly hooks to Mayweather, I think he would have had the decision from the judges for sure, and this would be the biggest achievement of his career since Mayweather is now considered as one of the greatest fighters in history of boxing, even above to eight-division world champ Manny Pacquiao according to some critics.

If the rematch is likely to happen next year, I am sure this would still be one of the biggest hits in boxing because legendary coach Freddie Roach will surely make Cotto as one of the most feared and talented boxer that ever laced up a pair of gloves in boxing history, as what he did to Filipino boxing icon Pacquiao.
