Who is Your Favorite Candidate For The 2016 Presidential Election?

By Alon Calinao Dy: It is less than a year before the 2016 Presidential election in the Philippines, and many Filipinos have different positions who would be their presidential bet and would bring the country into one of the richest countries in Asia.

The latest Pulse Asia survey showed Vice President Jejomar Binay as the leading presidential candidate in 2016. However, Binay is facing the alleged gross overprice in the construction of Makati City Hall Building II, when he was a Makati mayor.

In the recent news, Pnoy might endorse Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte as the prospect that would continue his Tuwid Na Landas program. It might be possible that Duterte would be the running mate of Senator Grace Poe next year. Duterte is the president and Poe is the vice president.

There is no doubt that Aquino is an honest and sincere leader when he continues to fight corruption among government officials. Though he has a lot of criticisms in the social media about his participation in the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law and by not admitting his responsibility over the killings of SAF 44 in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, lots of Filipinos believe that the current administration is better than the previous ones.

Filipino voters are tired of crooked politicians. But vote buying is rampant in the country. They can easily forget their principles if they are given money to vote a politician. This is one of the problems that many Filipinos had been facing over the last decades. Until now, I think voters would prefer a political leader who has a lot of money than a leader who has a will for good governance in the Philippines.
