The Restoration of The Death Penalty

By Alon Calinao Dy: People live and die as we are all trevelers in this world. We all have choices and decisions in life, and every decision we make have consequences that we are solely responsible for our actions.

It has often been said that if a man who lives by killing people will suffer the same fate, meaning he puts himself as a target of assassination just like what Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said. This is true for most hired killers especially those who have no control over their capabilities.

If some people do not respect the rule of law and value the essence of life, then it is about time that we make a firm decision about the restoration of the death penalty in the Philippines.

One wonders what drives someone to commit heinous crimes to other people. It seems our law has no impact on murder rates as it continues to rise.

One should ask about the sudden rise of crime in our country. Who tolerate these criminals doing evil acts? It is what we called holy men or they just called themselves as people of God?

To live is to love life... To do harm or commit evil things is a matter of choice. We all deserve to live a peaceful life and have a freedom that God has given us all, but sad to say, others do not see the same way.

Yes, we define our own values for what is right or wrong in accordance with our customs and traditions.

The sudden burst of crime reports in the country instilled fear and concern from people around the world. If the death penalty is one of the solutions to lower the violent crime rates, so be it.
