Davaoeños Donate Thousands Sacks of Rice To Lumad And Kidapawan Farmers

By Alon Calinao Dy: According to some reports, the people of Davao city donated thousands sacks of rice through the great effort of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to Kidapawan massacre victims, mostly farmers who demanded for food when some policemen opened fire on them last April 1.

Presidential aspirant Duterte said that he is willing to help the hungry peasants in every way possible. He also opposed to the killings of Lumad people.

Davaoeños are known as helpful people when they were the ones who volunteered to give medical and food assistance to Yolanda victims in Tacloban City and nearby places on November 2013.

Duterte, who is known as a tough talking mayor, showed to Filipinos that he is indeed a true leader with a soft heart, and the one who knows how to provide best alternatives when a problem arises like this.

Since election season is near, Duterte received different criticisms from his rivals that his intention to give food assistance to Kidapawan farmers is not pure. Just to make things clear, this humanitarian aid does not come from Mayor Duterte alone, but from the people of Davao City.

Days from now Filipinos will have a new president. The future of the country lies in the hands of Filipino voters. I'd say that this is the right time to choose a true leader who can decide for himself/herself under any circumstances.

To all Filipino readers of this post, please do vote wisely.
