By Alon Calinao Dy: The Catholic Church of the Philippines is very alarmed on derogatory remarks about CBCP president and Lingayen - Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas from netizens in social media.
The bishop who is believed to be a supporter of Aquino Administration has received insulting comments from Duterte followers after the presumptive president from Davao City said that the Catholic Church is considered as the most hypocritical institution.
Bishop Socrates is one of the critics of the incoming president Duterte and is planning to sue those bullies after he discovered hurtful words from them.
This is what he said on his Facebook timeline:
As what some commenters said that they were very sad and began commenting to Bishop Socrates Villegas when the CBCP president has no respect to the separation of laws between the state and the church.
The 71-year-old former Mayor of Davao City said that he wants to end crime, corruption and illegal drugs within 3 to 6 months in the office. Most Filipinos voted for him because he has a Political Will to make it happen compared to his opponents.
A very recent issue about this dispute when Duterte defied Catholic Church's belief and teaching on Family Planning. I think Duterte is right that one of the big problems in the Philippines is the sudden growth of population.
Presumptive president said, "I only want three children for every family." I believe that he is just a realist. This is probably one of the reasons why the Catholic Church of the Philippines particularly Archbishop Villegas has received insulting remarks from the online users.
