By Alon Calinao Dy: According to some reports, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is allegedly considered as one of the most corrupt agencies in the Philippines.
Kim Henares who had issues before with the boxing Champ and now the newly elected Senator of the country Manny Pacquiao said that she was hurt by the allegations of corruption at BIR.
Henares even boosted what she accomplished in the said agency for the last 5 years, since the incoming president Rodrigo Duterte made his promise to Filipinos to stop corruption during his reign.
Presumptive pressident Duterte said he would fight any corrupt government official and if found guilty, his proposal to have a reinstatement of death penalty in the country might be applied.
In an interview on GMA News' Balingtanghali, Henares said that "hindi na rerecognized efforts nya." In English, "her efforts were not even recognized."
Aside from Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Land of Transportation Office (LTO) are among the government agencies who have issues of corruption.
Incoming president Rodrigo Duterte has repeatedly said that he wants to abolish corrupt government agencies when he takes oath as the president of the Philippines on June 30. This sounds impossible for his critics, but I think he can make it happen.
