All-out War or The Proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law?
By Alon Calinao Dy: We have learned from the veteran military personnel like Muntinlupa City Representative Rodolfo Biazon and others that an all-out war is not the solution for a lasting peace in Mindanao. But, why other people actually declaring an all-out war in Mindanao? What is the root of the problem?
Many Filipinos are so judgmental when they call "Muslims as terrorists" because there are lots of peace-loving Muslims in Mindanao. Sadly, we just can't see it.
On the other hand, there are Muslims who are unwilling to accept Christian peoples' viewpoints. And so, they don't want to speak about it and settle their differences which become wounds and scars that leads to a real war.
If a person is dedicated to peace and supports the proposed BBL, then he should stand for the principles of peace by not threatening that he will go to a combat if the deadline is not met. If real peace is in your heart, and so you are going to live and die for it. Don't stick to the dirty influence in politics, but follow the principles of peace.
If an individual is against the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law, it is better to say all your fears and those "what ifs" so that the present regime would be able to know your concerns.
The government should listen to the fears of the protesters and don't be in a hurry to pass the new law as this would result a big dismay among the majority of the Filipinos who do not fully understand about the BBL.
Don't make me say it again! But I have to say it again to all protesters of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law, don't stick to the dirty influence in politics but follow the principles of peace. We all know that politics is a dirty game, and you should know your own tactics to overpower it.
Now it's up to Filipinos to decide whether they want an all-out war or the proposed BBL.
I want a durable peace in Mindanao, but I totally disagree with the decision that the BBL should be passed immediately without more studies and approval from the majority of the people. I believe if the BBL is a true solution of war in Mindanao, I am also confident that Filipinos were ready to listen and forget about all the failed peace agreements in the past.

Do You Support The Bangsamoro Basic Law For Real Peace in Mindanao?
By Alon Calinao Dy: It is hard to comment about the Bangsamoro Basic Law, also known as the BBL, whether we should support it or not.
You know the reason why? Because the issue of Mamasapano incident is not yet resolved and the wound is still fresh, especially for the affected families.
I understand Filipinos want to achieve peace in Mindanao. It is hard to see children growing up without the support of their fathers. It is hard to watch these young people enlisted themselves to become rebels so that they could avenge the deaths of their fathers.
As long as possible, we do not want conflict and bloodshed.
Representative Sitti, a woman and a strong political leader, spoke bravely in The Bottomline With Abunda show about her own perspectives about the Bansangmoro Basic Law.
Sitti clarified that she is a peace advocate and they (a group of Muslim tribes) want the right to self-determination. That is why she is not against the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law.
In her speech, Sitti is confident that BBL will make Mindanao a peaceful area and would not mean that it is a path for their separation from the Philippines but rather would make them close to the country.
I admit I admire her courage. I also believe in her talks with TV host Boy Abunda that she told the truth from the heart. But still, it is hard to say Yes or No about this new law.
The question now is, are we all going to take risks related to the Bangsamoro Basic Law or are we going to say "NO" to anything?
It is now up to the people to decide whether they trust the MILF or not. I think we have witnessed too much bloodshed in Mindanao.
It is too easy for us to say "Yeah, all out war" because we are not the ones who are risking our lives.
But if we live there or put ourselves in their shoes, I am sure you would think twice whether you still need this war or not.
