By Alon Calinao Dy: Since 2015, a few days before the tough-talking Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte made an official that he will be running for president, rumors circulated all over social media that AlDub was supporting and happy about the final decision of Duterte to accept the people's call and face this tough challenge.
AlDub stands for Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza (also known as Yaya Dub). These unconfirmed reports coming from netizens made the supporters of Duterte very happy.
A few days before the actual 2016 presidential elections, these rumors are now again on social media. Although phenomenal AlDub couple Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza stayed quiet on rumored issue, netizens believe that they are supporters of Duterte.
These issues already cleared by Eat Bulaga management that AlDub will not support any presidential candidate as Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza want to stay neutral as much as possible.
However, netizens continued to believe that AlDub supports Duterte when these celebrities were seen doing fist sign or hand gesture as a sign of support to Duterte.
No one really knows the truth because these stories will remain as humors except AlDub couple Alden and Maine would admit it just like some vocal celebrity supporters of Davao City mayor.
