Joma Sison Does Not Want To be Dictated By Philippine Government

By Alon Calinao Dy: After President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared a unilateral ceasefire on his SONA's speech last July 25, communist rebel groups allegedly continued conducting operations that killed one CAFGU and wounded other soldiers three days after the SONA.

Some reports say that CPP-NPA founder Joma Sison does not want to be dictated by Philippine government after President Duterte withdrew government's unilateral ceasefire.

President Duterte demanded an explaination of the attack in Davao del Norte, but the Communist rebel forces said that it was the government who made an initial move and conducted military operations when President Duterte himself declared a ceasefire "effectively immediately" on his SONA.

The Mindanaoan President understands that peace is important for all Filipinos in order to have an economic growth. Promoting peace and unity between the government and rebel groups is one of the top priorities of Duterte administration.

Now, President Duterte commanded Armed Forces of the Philippines and Police departments nationwide to be ready for any attack if Communist rebel groups do not agree for peaceful talks.

Filipinos are hopeful that peace and unity, and cooperation among Filipinos should dwell on us rather than war. Save children's future with their fathers who support them. Stop the violence because no one is a true winner in this battle.
